You can easily check your Store Locator Plus® payments for the SaaS subscriptions as well as WordPress plugins. The Premium Subscription for WordPress plugins is not the same as the SaaS Subscription.
The SaaS subscription provides access to our hosted location maps and directory platform. Our servers host the data and do all the computational work. Your website only needs a small snippet of JavaScript to render an interactive map for your visitors. This allows Store Locator Plus® to run on any web service that can serve JavaScript including Ghost, Joomla!, Shopify, Squarespace, Typo3, Weebly, Wix, and yes even WordPress.
The WordPress plugin premium subscription provides access to our primary WordPress plugins with extended features. This is for businesses running their own self-hosted WordPress sites that use plugins to add Store Locator Plus®. It requires your business to provide the WordPress hosting as well as the required map API keys where Google will bill you directly for map rendering and location lookup.
Keep in mind that these are completely separate systems and have different login locations for each service.
Administrators who are updating the SLP base plugin for Word Press to the latest version should NOT just upload the new zip file WITHOUT deactivating/deleting the older SLP version first. While the WP message “do you want to replace version XXX with version 2504.xx” normally would not create an issue … if you do that NOW with any 2504* release it will crash (whitescreen) the WP site.
Instead , REMOVE the existing SLP plugin (this will not delete your location data) and upload the new plugin manually. Make sure your add-ons are also deactivated and current beforehand. See How to update
Once the Store Locator Plus plug-in is current, the latest version of your add-ons can be activated.
Changing the results layout is a feature provided for Professional level accounts. Users of the self-managed WordPress plugins will find this in the Experience add on.
The default format for the results string uses the numerical encoding for the various data elements that can be rendered. This default string format is present in the base Store Locator Plus plugin. You can reset to the default at any time by deleting the entry in the Results Layout field under Settings/Results/Appearance and saving the settings.
This article provides information on how to recover from critical errors after a plugin update. Critical updates can occur for a variety of reasons. These errors can take your WordPress site offline until the error is resolved.
For the purpose of this article we are going to delve into an example where a Store Locator Plus® add on is running an outdated version and the base plugin is updated to an incompatible version. While newer versions of the Store Locator Plus® plugin will auto-detect incompatible add on versions and disable them automatically, there are some third party add ons that do not report version updates properly and can prevent this auto-detection from working.
Here is how to recover from these issues.
SaaS users can skip this step. Store Locator Plus® for WordPress plug-in users need a Google API key to utilize the full features available in the the plugin. WordPress administrators who are self-managing their plugin updates, security, and Google services need to setup a Google API account so they can start billing for map services.
If you are a subscriber to Store Locator Plus® – our SaaS directory and locator service, you can ignore this page, we’ve got it covered. Go to our Getting Started guide and move on to Step 2.
For the Store Locator Plus® for WordPress users these instructions are a general guideline. You will need to visit the Google developers page and read their User guide to obtain a new account or update your existing account. Google will bill you directly for your monthly map views and location look-ups.
Add a location map to your site by putting the SaaS embed code or WordPress shortcode on any page. You’ll need to have an active Store Locator Plus® SaaS subscription or have the Store Locator Plus® for WordPress plugin installed and activated.
Make sure you’ve completed the initial configuration and setup steps outline in the Store Locator Plus® Getting Started article.
When a visitor goes to a page with the Store Locator Plus® map code embedded, it will show a default search form and a map centered in your country or on the “Center Map At” address you entered when configuring Store Locator Plus®. When someone searches for a zip code that is close enough to a location you entered it will show those locations on the map.
Store Locator Plus® for WordPress plugins are NOT the same thing as our Store Locator Plus® SaaS service. This article will describe the differences between Store Locator Plus® SaaS versus WordPress plugins.
All Store Locator Plus® software updates are handled for you.
There are no Google or other map location service API keys to manage.
Store Locator Plus® bills a low easy-to-understand monthly fee.
You must manage your own Store Locator Plus® software updates.
Google requires an API key for all products using their map software. You must create, manage, and secure your own API key.
Google will bill you for every map view and location geocoding request. Rates are on a sliding scale and are different for map views and location look-ups.
WordPress environment is setup and configured including activation of the following plugins
In addition map service (Google API keys) should be in place and some locations should be added to the system.
A page has been created with the [slplus] shortcode present and the map is rendering properly.
Users are logged in as a WordPress administrator (the process will be slightly different for SaaS users).
Create a location category and attach it to an existing location.
The new category should appear on the category list on the page.

The category is assigned to the location and appears on the location table.

The search form for the map should show a category drop down.

There are five to seven sections under the Settings/Results tab admin panel depending on which add-ons you have activated. Each section describes when and/or where the results will appear under your map.
Not all of the settings will appear if you have the Advance level plan for SaaS or do not have the Experience and/or the Power add-ons for the basic WPSLP self managed plug-in.
You determine the Number of results you want to appear on the map and locator page as soon as the page loads when you have “Show locations at startup” checked. We recommend 50 for most sites unless you have the Premier add-on or Enterprise level plan (if using MYSLP) which allows less clutter on the map by virtue of “cluster markers”.
The next setting is the radius to search initially when “Show locations at startup” is checked. Leave empty to use the map radius default. Recommended : Set to a large number to search everywhere.
And the third setting is : ” Number to show initially.” How many results do you want to show under the map? This is the part that populates the actual information regarding your locations (under or next to your map depending on the style) with the address, website info, phone, etc.
If you are signed up for the MYSLP, the Professional level plan) additional settings can be enabled , for example do NOT show the results until after a search has been performed”. The setting is labeled “Disable Initial directory”
