The ability to change results layout is included in the Experience add on.
The default format for the results string uses the numerical encoding for the various data elements that can be rendered. This default string format is present in the base Store Locator Plus plugin. You can reset to the default at any time by deleting the entry in the Results Layout field under Settings/Results/Appearance and saving the settings.
With the Experience Add-on you have multiple search tool options to display on the front page when a site visitor lands on your locator page. Search by Name is a checkbox that is found under the Store Locator Plus “Settings/Search” menu on your admin ui when you have the Experience add-on.
Store Locator Plus Widgets are included in the Experience Add On. This add-on pack creates new widgets that can be used to connect to the Store Locator Plus map or location data on your site from any widget-enabled area in your theme.
SLP Search Form
The SLP Search widget places an interactive zip/address search box in any widget location on your site. A search initiated from the widget will direct the user to the Store Locator Plus map page that you have specified.
Map Page URL
The URL for the page on your site where you want the user to end up. The page should have the SLPLUS shortcode for rendering the Store Locator Plus map. For example http://localhost/?page_id=8 or https://localhost/locations/ if you have SEO-friendly page URLs enabled in the permalinks settings.
The label to precede the input box, or if ‘use placeholder’ is set, the text to use as a placeholder.
The text for the submit button.
When checked the label will be placed inside the input box as a placeholder.
Show locations within this radius from the zip code/address the user input.
Widget for States
The SLP States widget places a drop down list of the states or provinces where you have active locations. The user selects a state and presses the submit button to be redirected to a page with a Store Locator Plus map in place.
Widget for Cities
The cities widget provides a drop down list of cities based on your Store Locator Plus locations. Users can select a city where you have locations and be directed to your locator map to get directions or other details.
The Experience Add-on allows you to customize the layouts, the map interface, and the search form to display in a certain manner on the front end of your locator page
Search Layout is found under the Settings tab on the Search panel.
This setting allows the search form layout to be modified via a text setting. If the Search Layout field is left blank the default search form layout and your SLP style is used. If Search Layout is modified the layout will take precedence over most of the Search Form settings and the basic Store Locator Plus.
There are five sections under the Settings/Results tab admin panel. Each section describes when and/or where the results will appear under your map.
You determine the Number of results you want to appear on the map and locator page as soon as the page loads when you have “Show locations at startup” checked. We recommend 50 for most sites unless you have the Premier add-on or Enterprise level plan (if using MYSLP) which allows less clutter by virtue of cluster markers.
The next setting is the radius to search initially when “Show locations at startup” is checked. Leave empty to use the map radius default. Set to a large number to search everywhere.
With the Experience add-on, (or if you are using MYSLP, the Professional level plan) other settings will appear and can be enabled that will Not show the results immediately until after a search has been performed. The setting is labeled “Disable Initial directory”.
Store Locator Plus comes with a variety of styles to provide a basic style framework that will attempt to match your locator page to various WordPress themes installed on your site. You can see the list of Plugin Styles under the Store Locator Plus Settings Tab / View panel.
